Letter discusses editor’s attention to her manuscript for the book WOOLGATHERING and the loan of a Jean Genet book (Prisoner of Love). Both letters mention Hanuman founder/editor Raymond Foye. It seems generally unknown how instrumental the publication and reception of WOOLGATHERING was to coaxing Smith out of retirement and back to New York City. These letters are from her dormant period a few years before her re-emergence and tour with Bob Dylan.
