Please make an offer! YEARS BEFORE HE WAS PRESIDENT! Reagan was an amazing President. Archived, professionally-framed handwritten letter from Ronald Reagan in 1956 when he was speaking around the country for GE. Reagan gave [increasingly frequent and increasingly political speeches] for General Electric in the mid- and late 1950s, when he became not just the host of the company’s television series but, in effect, its most prominent corporate spokesman. His subject wasalmost invariably the wastefulness and intrusiveness of government (which should, he insisted,’be reducedto the barest minimum’) and the bankruptcy of the’welfare state’ (Encyclopedia. Com). When Reagan spoke in Lima, a missionary family (Richard Foulkes of Costa Rica) was visiting and heard him speak. Richard was so impressed that he painted a portrait of Reagan. A Lima friend, Terri Leffler, then sent the portrait to Reagan. In turn, Reagan wrote a letters of thanks to Richard and to Terri. This is the letter he wrote to Terri. Please note the original envelope with Reagan’s Hollywood address crossed off and his LA address handwritten.
