It has been folded once horizontally and twice vertically to fit into an envelope. Also included is the original mailing envelope, which is postmarked, also in Very Good condition, with Miller’s writing on both the front and back of envelope. Scan of actual item. The letter is addressed to Mr. Shaw, of the Library of Congress, who was helping Miller to track down various books while Miller was composing his “Books in My LIfe, ” a memoir about authors who influenced him, later published by New Directions.
