


Autograph letter signed, written in French, to Queen Maria Christina (wife of King Alfonso XII) thanking her for her message of sympathy on the death of his brother-in-la, Tsar Alexander III. This message was sent by telegraph from Moscow, where Edward VII had arrived that day for the funeral on November 16th. The Prince and the Duke of York represented Queen Victoria at the funeral and then stayed on for the wedding of Nicholas II and Alexandra of Hess on November 26th. Measures 8.5″ x 5.5″.
