



One-page handwritten letter, dated December 23, 1944, signed by Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young. In his letter, scripted in blue ink on a plain sheet of unlined paper, Young writes to a Dr. Turner and explains that attending a party in early January will be difficult because he is having trouble with his knee. It has failed to come around, had it xrayed [sic] shows o. However if you have your party some time later part of Jan. I will try and be there. ” It is signed “Cy Young, ” with both the signature and text grading “9 overall. The letter (7.25 x 10.25 inches) displays one vertical and two horizontal folds, along with an area of linear discoloration along the bottom fold near the base. A few other light creases and small edge tear along the upper left. Border are also evident. In Very Good condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
