The letter was written to Hon Joseph Webster Allen on Franklin Roosevelt stationary with original envelope. The envelope reads Hon J Webster Allen Kindness of Mr Hoover. The letter itself reads “Hyde Park Feb 18th 1931 Dear “Mr Allen, I hope there is no possibility of the Nat. Crime Commission ceasing its labors – to do so at this point would be “criminal” in itself. The commission’s work was largely responsible for a public opinion that forced through use reforms and new programs in this – and moved 88 the other status are just getting interested.
