Evelyn Lincoln, longtime private secretary to John F. One page handwritten letter on U. Senate stationery to Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Carol Kearns. Lincolns thanks Kearns for a complimentary letter. She dates the letter simply as Wednesday but the docket indicates it was written on June 1, 1960 while, while John F. Kennedy was campaigning in California for the presidency. There are file dockets and notation at the top of the letter, one indicating that the Congressman wanted to keep the letter. Lincoln is of course well known to autograph collectors as a prolific proxy signer of letters and photographs of Kennedy while a Senator and President. Examples of her signature are desired by both Kennedy collectors and autograph collectors but full handwritten letters on Senator or White House letterhead are uncommon and provide nice opportunities for handwriting and signature studies of her natural hand and her forgeries on behalf of JFK.
