Offered for sale one hand-written letter from Blaze Starr, and possibly (if you act quickly) a free signed photo of her as well. As you might imagine, the photo is rather eye-catching. Blaze Starr (born Fannie Belle Fleming, April 10, 1932 – June 15, 2015) was an American stripper and burlesque comedian. Her vivacious presence and inventive use of stage props earned her the nicknames “The Hottest Blaze in Burlesque” and “Miss Spontaneous Combustion”. She was also known for her affairs with President John F. Kennedy and Louisiana Governor Earl Kemp Long. The 1989 film Blaze is based on her memoir. One act of hers involved a panther, which was trained to strip her on stage through the strategic placement of meat on her clothing. After the animal died, she decided to imitate a panther on stage instead, snarling at her audience while writhing on all fours. This performance, which she made a regular part of her act, eventually got her arrested for obscenity in Philadelphia. Blaze even rigged a couch to smolder and appear to burst into flames as she sat on it and undressed. Never politically interested, Fleming came into contact with lots of power-grabbers as a stripper at Washington, D. An aspiring politician named John F. Kennedy came through the doors in 1952. I met him at the club and went out with him a couple of times. He was with a bunch of people from a TV convention. Eventually Jackie went home and we wound up partying at the Roosevelt Hotel. Starr said she had sex with Kennedy several times over a 10-year period, including three or four times in the White House. Back then the few people who knew about Kennedy’s girlfriends kept the information guarded. CBS newsman Paul Niven picked her up and drove her to and from the White House. Those were the days, she said, when newsmen would never rat on their president. They were honored to be a friend and confidant. Her relationship with Kennedy wasn’t anything other than sex, she said. I was just one of his women. He was very nice to me. He treated all his women nice. In the early 1990’s handwritten letters of Starr’s began showing up in the autograph market in which she wrote tell-all encounters with Long and Kennedy. Her plan at the time was to reproduce the letters into a coffee table book. To my knowledge their were 6 different letters that she would write. When she first started writing the letters she would do a nice color picture of herself in the upper left hand corner, but soon she quit doing this because she was allergic to the smell of the ink pens. So in later letters she would do much simpler drawings. These each have the rare full-sized self-portrait drawings, lip prints, hand-drawn flowers and stars, and are signed twice- “Me Blaze” and full autograph “Blaze Starr” at the conclusion. In addition, for the first 2 letters that sell I will include a free hand-signed photo “Bustfully yours, Love Always, Blaze Starr”. The contents of the letters are: 1. Hooking up with JFK in the Lincoln bedroom and seeing Abraham Lincoln’s ghost. Fooling around with John F. Kennedy and making Earl Long jealous. A photographer catches Blaze stripping for Governor Earl Long. Blaze slides down a staircase in her panties and negligee and surprises President Charles DeGaule of France. Skinny dipping with Governor Earl Long and a surprise. President Kennedy interrupts a meeting on the Cuban Missile Crisis to spend time with Blaze Starr.
