BILLIE BURKE handwritten letter signed autograph 1929. I have owned this for 40 years. It was framed in 1985 and stored away ever since. I just removed the matted piece from the frame. Mat is 16×20 which is a standard size you can get that size frame at store. She’s a difficult one to read but I have almost every word deciphered. One sheet of paper folded. Ends up the sheet opened shows all the writing. Something had been stapled to the top, the holes are present but whatever it was is long gone. Part of a date stamp with the year 1929 on the top of the stationary. Dear Kitty and Gilbert- Your bowl of flowers were so lovely. I had them on my dressing table they lived the run of the play! But gosh, those things are not easy to laugh. When are we going (now on page two) to see you. Can’t you come?? At Sunday of ___?? Flo will be back by then and we’d so love to have you. I should so love to have Mr Bach too if it were possible. My love to you both and thanks for your thinking of me. Flo is referring to her husband at the time, the great show producer, Florez Ziegfeld. Time to let others enjoy these wonderful pieces I’ve collected over the years.
