I have not been successful in translating the contents of the letter, but it does mention the King of France as referring Nicholas to the person he is in correspondence with. Condition is excellent, with only very, very minor foxing and some slight sun fading. This autographed letter from Nicholas I Tsar of Russia was professionally framed and has not been inspected out of the frame. This comes to you as viewed in the photos, without any Certificate Of Authenticity. I have compared the signature to other authenticated signatures online, and it appears to be correct and legitimate…. NO CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. The frame measures 17 wide and 13 tall, whereas the engraving sight measures 6 1/2″ tall by 3 5/8″ wide, and the letter sight measures 9 3/8″ tall by 7 3/4″ wide. The translation of the printing states that the portrait was “drawn from life” and declares “Nicolaus I” as the “Kaiser Of Russland” or the “Tsar Of Russia”. As stated previously, I had trouble translating the hand written letter form French, as some of the hand writing is difficult for me to read correctly. It does mention the King of France on more than one occassion, and appears to have been redacted, either by Nicolaus himself, or some other person, with quill ink writing over some of the text, as shown. Signed at bottom along with St. Please review all of the photographs for additional condition reporting. Please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchasing.
