JACK TEAGARDEN HAND WRITTEN LETTER TO FUTURE WIFE WithENVELOPE 1941 RARE
This, music museum, see item, is a five page letter, written, by Jack TEAGARDEN, to Addie Gault, who was his future wife. Jack TEAGARDEN, who is known as one of the great leaders of jazz music, the greatest jazz trombonist, and “scat” singer. He was with Paul Whiteman, partnered with Louis Armstrong, Tommy And Jimmy Dorsey Stan Gets, and so many other Jazz greats. This letter was sent from the “Hotel Syracuse” in Syracuse, New York. It is a five page letter, which includes the envelope, on a ” Hotel Syracuse” envelope. As a return address, Jack signed, J. Jack’s style of hand writing is so obvious with his letters, “T”, and ” F”. Each time he used these two letters, there is a huge loop at the top. Once you have studied his signatures and letters, his hand writing can be recognized, instantly. You can tell how sensitive Jack is and how simple he reacted to life. It is no wonder that Jack and Louis Armstrong we’re best of friends. This is my reading of this letter. Jack’s spelling wasn’t great! To the Sweetest Gal in the World. Just received your letter, saw by the post mark it arrived at 9:30 but didn’t wake up untill a few min. Darling I miss you so. Everybody missis you, but I’m just in a fog. Can’t get intrested or ambition to do anything. The weather here is like you said St. And me so lonesome for you and V. (Verna Jean – Addie’s daughter). Earnie and I were going to the field today, but the part is X. Joe Mason & Jessie just dropped in for a minuet to see if they could do anything for me. How is Verna Jean? Hope she is well and happy. Tell your Mother I enjoyed her letter. You sure have a wonderful family. Give them all my love. I mean that the average public don’t know much about Blues & Negroid Music. And to try and build a whole program of it, is more or less experimental. It’s been a long 15 mins. Want to pause here to say, I love. You Dear, with all my heart. You are all I think about. I only hope you love me too. I told you last night, I don’t. Want to go to N. Nobody there I care to see, & to have them around would only. Darling I sure have been. I haven’t had, or. Wanted a date since I’ve been here. And I have no intentions of having. Your sisters letter was sure nice. Will try to write her soon. I haven’t written My Mother Yet. So wait till I can write her. Tell her how Wonderful you are. Darling I will send you some. I know you must (underlined). But coming out slowly but sure. Honey I must close for now. As it is Six o clock. I just asked Kitty for the Dog. Medisen but she has to write home for it. Sugar don’t worry about a thing. And remember I Love You. I think you can tell how lonely and sensitive Jack was. Having experienced knowing Addie and spending time with her, I realize just how dedicated Jack was to his music, and how sensitive he was to life. He was known as quite the drinker, but anyone who worked with him on stage said that he always played the best, no matter his condition. Many players said that, even when he was ill. You would never know by his singing or playing. Many would say that he sounded better after a few drinks. As you can tell, by my descriptions, I adored learning the history of the very interesting life of Jack Teagarden. Keep me on your favorite sellers and watch lists. It includes autographs of famous musicians – Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, Johnny Carson, Cozy Cole, Paul Whiteman, Joan Crawford, etc. Also, there is a huge collection of paintings – Oil paintings, watercolors, mixed media, etc. Statues, contracts, maps, signs, etc. All prices will be fair.
