Rare and historically significant handwritten letter/contract drafted and signed by Alexander Hamilton in 1799. Hamilton writes for his client who is the original lender, Louis Le Guen. This 220 year old letter is in overall very good condition with a cut segment from left upper corner likely for docketing signature. Letter measures 8 x 6.5 inches. Full signature by Alexander Hamilton is unusual and this note has been fully authenticated by PSA after receiving “likely to pass authentication” preliminary review by Beckett authentication services. This interaction between Burr and Hamilton could have contributed to their famous personal and political feud which ended in a duel fatal for Hamilton. This loan is referenced in “The Papers of Alexander Hamilton” Volume XXIII. Conservation framed with museum plexiglass.
